Our Trout Bum Tours are fly fishing trip packages designed to give you an overview of fly fishing in Alberta from south of Calgary in the Oldman River drainage to the Ram River drainage NW of Calgary, with the Red Deer and Bow River systems in between. Trophy Brookies and Wilderness Cutthroat.
This package has gained a lot of attention. Fortress Lake and the Ram River drainage, a combination no other company can offer. Brookies to 10+ pounds in a remote, wilderness, rocky mountain setting while enjoying rustic luxury accommodations coupled with camping, rafting, and fly fishing a remote back country cutthroat trout in a deep canyon on the Ram River.
Minimum stay is 5 days for 2 people. Maximum is up to 8 days for up to 8 guests.

Cutthroats & Browns
Central Alberta, just northwest of Calgary, is home to Alberta's "Brown Trout Country", an area home to a dozen solid brown trout freestone streams and spring creeks. A touch further west, the N & S Ram, Blackstone, and Cardinal Rivers are home to solid populations of cutthroat trout. This package is designed to provide a sampling of Alberta's lesser known trout streams to the north and west of Calgary, putting you on quiet streams and rivers.
Minimum stay is 3 days for 2 people. Maximum is up to 7 days for up to 8 guests.

Chasing Rainbows
In the immediate Calgary area, there are several waters that have good fly fishing for rainbow trout. The Bow River system has the best fly fishing in western Canada for large rainbows. Tributary waters to the Bow also have very good fly fishing.
Minimum stay is 3 days for 2 people. Maximum is up to 7 days for up to 8 guests. This package is designed to put you on to Alberta's best rainbow trout waters. You may experience several different trout waters depending on the season and water conditions. A new water every day is our goal, and the longer you stay the more waters you will see!

Wandering Aengus
From immediately SW of Calgary, north and west to the "West Country", brown trout, cutts, rainbows, and bull trout are present. Add in Fortress Lake by float plane and you can customize a package based on water type, scenery, trout species, etc. We have countless waters available and it's up to you what we do! Wander the back country of Alberta with us and enjoy Alberta fly fishng at its finest!
